It’s time to break the cycle of struggle! Holding beliefs like “life is a struggle” or “something always goes wrong” or perhaps you have this niggling feeling in your heart like something is missing from your life, you feel off track or stuck, not living your best life, holding onto trauma or painful memories. This is your soul screaming out for nourishment.
When you nourish your soul, you feel refreshed and you become more aligned with your life purpose.
4 SIMPLE WAYS YOU CAN START NOURISHING YOUR SOUL
Learn how to live in alignment with your core needs and values
Understand your core needs and get clear on your core values then make sure all your actions support those things. If you’ve done values work before, check in and see if your values are your personal values or do you hold values you’ve been conditioned or programmed to live by, values that don’t truly light up your soul.
Are your values vehicles that help you experience your value? For example, family is a vehicle to a particular value, perhaps Connection. Health is another vehicle to certain type of value, something like Empowerment. There is nothing wrong with having a vehicle listed as your value but unless you identify the actual value, your vehicle may change as you grow. If you need help, work with a good coach to help you identify your true core values. I have an online workshop on this inside Breathe Nourish Grow if you want help.
Clear your chakras
There are many ways you can clear these energy centres in your body. Many modalities that use breath, sound, movement, energetic intention and visualisation are all great tools to help.
Forensic Healing is also a great way of getting to the root of why a blockage is occurring. It helps you identify what lesson needs to be learnt from the situation so that you can heal yourself. Clearing and balancing chakras in these sessions are instant.
QHHT and Reiki are amongst other modalities also good for clearing and balancing chakras.
Other ways you can do this yourself is at home using guided meditations or just reconnecting with your power – doing a mental body scan or using your intuition to identify where you feel blocked. For example, ask yourself, “What am I feeling?” Perhaps your answer is “I’m lacking confidence” then we know the solar plexus/central chakra will benefit from a guided meditation to help open it up. You’ll know to align with the vibration of the colour yellow and that physical movement might be needed.
Invest in some Personal Development
If you’re willing to do the work, a health professional, healer, mentor or coach may be a great investment for you. As you work on healing, clearing and developing yourself, you’ll discover the layers to this. It’s a never ending and very rewarding journey.
You can change your habits, behaviours and emotions. You can heal your inner child and remove DNA damage from past life trauma. All these things affect our soul. You can start this journey yourself by looking at the way you respond/react to all things in your daily life, identifying your negative behaviours and working through the cognitive patterns you picked up from childhood that often repeat in our adult life. These are known as maladaptive schemas. Again, if you’re unsure, reach out for a Forensic Healing session.
16 personalities has a great personality test to help you become aware of your weaker traits. Fix your weakest links by turning your weaknesses into your strengths. These types of tests can be a great way to reveal what subconscious paradigms we are playing into.
Healing your childhood and soul completely changes your life. You don’t have to have had a shitty childhood, it could be belief systems you picked up as a child about money, work, beauty, relationships, success. They are all things that can be undone when we address subconscious patterns.
When it comes to transforming yourself, you can start by looking at your triggers and behaviours. Our subconscious mind holds onto every single experience and emotion we’ve ever experienced which we’ve not yet let go of.
Our subconscious mind is programmed from the last trimester of pregnancy to the age of 7. This is where most our belief systems are created. After this, our conscious mind develops. Our habits run off the subconscious mind. We often pick up habits from our siblings, our parents, our community.
Another aspect that comes up a bit in Forensic Healing sessions has to do with past life issues, whether that be soul fragmentation or vows, oaths or agreements you may have taken in another lifetime to protect you from doing something “wrong” or “sinful” or being hurt, which can be the reason why you fail to find success, enjoyment or freedom in life now.
Now if you find it hard to believe in past lives, let me share a little story.
I never believed in past lives until I found myself on the table of an intuitive Osteopath in 2014. A long story short, as she was working on me she began talking about a past life of mine which matched up perfectly to a memory I could recall from my childhood, it was a memory I had put down to a dream however it was a clear dream that I never ever woke up and went “oh I had that dream again”. It was in that moment that my whole belief system around life was smashed apart once again.
Another big healing I’ve had personal experience with was removing imprints from baptisms. In some religions these are carried through several lifetimes too. These types of vows and declarations can affect every single component of your life. Your health, your relationships, your finances, your career, your spirituality, your growth and learning. Removing them is life changing!
My healing sessions are available online and in person at Lilydale.
After a healing
- you may find you respond differently to situations around you
- you may find you have more willpower or strength to say no to anything that doesn’t serve you.
Something I always make very clear though is that healing is dependent on you, on what thoughts and beliefs you choose to feed going forward. So when you work with me, I share tips to help you set up your surroundings to support you better. I recommend you create plans or lists if that’s your thing, my fav is schedules that remind me what needs to happen until it becomes a part of my normal response pattern.
Fill Your Cup
Filling your cup was the final reminder I had to share for this article. When your cup is overflowing, you can give without burning out.
So when I pulled a card to share in this article, it was no surprise this point came up. This message is from Rebecca Campbell’s Work Your Light Oracle Cards.
“Fill Up Your Well – Retreat. Rest. Refuel.
The most selfless thing you can do is to fill up your own inner well. When we are running around half filled, we subconsciously look to things and people around us to give the nourishment and nurturing that we so deeply crave.
Nothing can grow in barren lands. You are no good to anyone if you’re running on empty. The feminine is bountiful, fertile and rich. Tend to your own well and watch as the amount you have to give multiplies.
If your inner well isn’t full, you will find yourself craving things from the outside world to fill it. This is our body’s instinctive way of reaching for the grounding and nurturing that we are not allowing ourselves.
What nourishes you? What refuels your body? What is nectar for your soul? What brings you back to life? What is your secret medicine? What makes you feel abundant and fertile? Overspilling with life?
It may be gardening, arranging flowers, getting a massage, using luxurious essential oils, snuggling up on the couch, hiking, sipping a good coffee at your favourite cafe, attending a women’s circle, reading about sacred sites, spontaneous bike rides, walking along the beach or yin yoga.
What nourishes you is your medicine. When you give yourself the medicine that you need to be nourished, you nourish all those around you for there is more than enough to go around.
Do something to fill your well today.”
When you are nourishing yourself, you are so so powerful!

You are worthy and deserving of nourishment, worthy of investing in what you need to take more leaps forward in life.
Do what you truly want to do and being who you want to be!
