“Being a part of Assist PT’s strength and conditioning program for Junior Cobras has made such a positive impact on Emmerson’s basketball and life. We have seen her make gains on the court by being able to run out games stronger, match bigger opponents with strength and increase her ability to get up and down the floor. The great thing about this program is that the benefits aren’t just restricted to on-court performance. We have seen a significant increase in her self-esteem as well as adopting a healthier lifestyle outside of basketball. As a parent and coach I highly recommend this program and encourage all Junior Cobras to take this opportunity to make themselves better.”

Emmerson Foley started the Assist PT Elite Development program looking to improve her strength and fitness.
I thought that improving my strength and fitness would help in developing my basketball career and make basketball more enjoyable and easier on myself.”
The Elite Development Program is ran in a group setting where we focused more on cardio fitness and general strength. Throughout this program Emmerson improved her sprint speed, agility and leg strength all measured through testings in the first and last week.
After completing 8 weeks of the Elite Development Program she then progressed straight to the Elite Conditioning Program. Building the initial foundations in basic strength and range of motion through the Development program meant the transition into the Conditioning program was a lot quicker and her strength training could progress at a higher rate.
I wanted to continue as I was impressed with my results from the first program and thought that by continuing I would benefit even more.”
The Elite Conditioning Program differs to the Elite Development program as it is performed in the PT Studio in a 2 or 3 on 1 setting where the focus is on building strength and power through basketball specific movements.
Emmerson’s has seen a 11kg increase in her Bulgarian Deadlift and in 12 weeks gone from 1 set of 5 Push Ups to smashing a new PB of 20 Push Ups (followed by a further 15)!
After completing one round each of both the programs I went into the 2016/2017 season try outs feeling confident as I had noticed a improvement in my arm and leg strength. I feel a lot stronger on the court now and running in games is a lot easier. I have really enjoyed the program!”
At only 14 years of age she has developed a fantastic foundation for further strength and conditioning gains as her body continues to develop.
