All the reasons why you feel you can’t do something are all the reasons why you need too! Determination and consistency! Living with MS did not stop Simone from staying consistent and always giving her best. We are truly proud of her transformation and the effects it has had on her life.
Simone took up her training with Annette in 2010 and has since trained with the team who have made up Assist PT (Jordyn O’Shea from 2013 and Matt Shepherd from 2016).
In 2011 Simone experienced one of her worst multiple sclerosis flair ups, leaving her with temporary paralysis but her will to return to training early was strong, even with a walking stick.
The recovery period was a long road involving changes in nutrition and training continued to improve week by week.
The before photo of Simone was taken 6 months after the attack that left her with temporary paralysis through her midsection. Since then she has lost over 220cm in circumference measurements and 33kg from her heaviest point! Even better is her flair ups have now become far less frequent.
Simone’s journey has been truly inspiring and outstanding we if we don’t say so ourselves!
One of Simone’s goals in 2013 was to fit back into the outfit pictured in the collage above, so we set an incentive that if she reached it by a set date, we would do a little makeover for her.
This is not all there is to Simone’s inspirational journey. Simone even got her Mum lifting weights for the first time in her life in her 70’s!
Simone and her Mum still come to see us every week today. Personal training is part of their lifestyle change. More on Simone and Lola’s journey can be found in our article “Felt like giving up lately? Read this!”
