Adam lost 73cm in measurements and gained over 9kg of lean muscle in his first 12 week package with both Matt and Annette.
“The weight training wasn’t a problem. I loved it from the word go. Cardio on the other hand….. I would rather have died than do cardio.
In the beginning I couldn’t even do 1 minute on the Xtrainer. My trainer Annette though really helped me out with this by explaining why we were doing it and what the benefits were which really motivated me.
Also by joining the group sessions it brought out my competitive side and I strived to keep up with the others. In no time I really loved it and looked forward to the cardio sessions.
Annette also helped me out by being there when self-sabotage and doubt kicked in and I just wanted to pig out on crap. I kept my diet really simple. Once I found what worked for me I just kept to it as I really don’t enjoy cooking and can eat the same thing and not get sick of it.
Annette explained that food is fuel and once I understood that I stopped eating to feel better and in turn, actually starting feeling better because I was in control and giving my body exactly what it needed.
The assessments were also a huge source of inspiration.
Doing this 12 week challenge has given me an intellectual, logical blueprint but more vital a mental, emotional one for how to go about achieving anything in life”
Adam returned in 2014 for some accountability and began weight training under the care of Matt Shepherd.
