12 months ago I was suffering with so much anxiety caused by a stressful job, busy lifestyle and barely any me time. It overcame my life so bad I couldn’t breathe and found myself at least once a day needing to lay on my back in an effort to fight off any panic attacks that were coming on due to not being able to get in enough air for just one decent breath.
It took a whole approach. Combining my healthy eating and weight training with chiro, osteo, my friend the foam roller, reiki and meditation, I was able to overcome my anxiety but this was the beginning of a whole new journey for me.
I began attending monthly meditations to work through a few blockages and became more in tune with my body and mind, an amazing new form of confidence and strength began to emerge. I was healing, learning and growing.
The lessons being learnt were amazing. I wanted to bring something into our space at Assist PT that would help our clients stay focused and on track, I needed something similar to this but a little different.
I began looking at opportunities to introduce yoga into our space and then it totally hit me, it wasn’t yoga we needed here, in fact what I loved most about yoga was the mental recharge it gave me, meditation hit my soul on a deeper level and had had such a profound impact on my life.
I needed to introduce meditation into our space at Lilydale, one created to help unblock all the things I had identified as reasons why a client struggles to reach their goals or maintain them after putting in all the hard work to get them where they actually wanted to be.
So here we are a couple of months later, me and my reiki/meditation teacher, my dear friend Audrey working together on something that is truly unique and wonderful! When we got started on our ideas and collaborating our two jobs together we knew we were about to create something pretty damn special!
And that we did!!
Three weeks ago we launched our first weekly body mind connection meditations. We have designed these meditations to help people who want ease when it comes to their healthy lifestyle journey. The emphasis is on your mind, body and soul, linking all three together to empower you to move forward and overcome the perceived hurdles you feel are holding you back.
Last week we addressed fear and every person in attendance was able to leave with the answers they needed to address this in their lives right now, it was truly amazing and so damn exciting to see our idea working so well, so soon!
Tonight we will journey through our emotional centre to understand how its hold can contribute to self-sabotage or success.
