Our bodies are always sharing truths with us in the form of physical or emotional feedback.
Working as a holistic life coach and energy healer, I’ve noticed there tends to be 3 types of women who seek me out for help.
- The woman who has been sacrificing her own needs just to keep everyone else happy.
- The woman who’s been so busy and distracted with work and/or helping others that she hasn’t set aside much time for her own needs and addressing what has been showing up in her own life.
- The woman who just wants answers so she can do the work so she can start living a life that flows and aligns with all that she is.
At different stages, I’ve been all 3 of these women too.
As a sacrificing woman always worrying about pleasing everyone else, I was out of alignment with my future and ended up miserable. I thought I was honouring my values but when I got really honest with myself, I was just doing what I thought was the right thing out of fear of how I’d be judged. I was existing in my life, not living.
As the woman who kept herself really busy, I ended up stressed out and suffering with anxiety. I didn’t enjoy time alone. I didn’t want to stop to address my feelings and needs. It was either way too painful or exhausting and so much easier to hide behind humour, laughter, looking after others or having a good time.
As the woman who distracted herself with exercise as an outlet, I began finding peace but a new can of worms was opened. If I wasn’t training, I wasn’t happy. It was just a healthier distraction than what alcohol or recreational drugs was for me many years earlier. I had a whole lot of work I needed to do so that I could train for enjoyment, not punishment, and not as an outlet for my frustrations.
As the woman who demanded answers I began investing in my health and wellbeing. I used my body, my health and wellness, my thoughts and feelings and faced what was showing up in my life to work through it all. The fear, limiting beliefs, negative patterns, you name it. No expense was spared to get myself the best help I could because my happiness was worth it.
Ignoring built up emotions creates dis-ease in the body and health issues eventually begin rearing their ugly head.
But I reached a point. I realised that I couldn’t afford to not change.
I continued to invest in myself both personally and professionally because I discovered my worth.
I turned my pain into my power!
I began saying yes to things that nurtured my mind, body and soul and began letting go of thoughts, beliefs and actions that no longer served me. Doing so meant I was able to free myself from sabotaging habits and behaviours.
I often feel like I’ve lived two completely different lives. One where I responded to the world around me from a place of victimhood and one where I responded from a place of empowerment.
I find best results come when we work from a whole perspective, nurturing your mind, body and soul.
So if you can relate to one or all of the women I’ve described above, let me share some things to help you take more steps forward.
Perhaps you could be looking after yourself a little bit more, where can you start?
Well first of all, I want you to understand how powerful YOU actually are.
You are the creator of your world. You call the shots on how you allow yourself to feel and be treated.
It starts with self worth.
I have a task I get all women who struggle with self worth to do. It’s called my list of 100 things I love about me.
Once you’ve done that, if you haven’t done so already, pay attention to the symptoms your body is showing you right now. These symptoms are feedback to push you in a different direction. The direction that will bring you more happiness.
Listening to our bodies is something we can overlook when demands are high on our shoulders but there’s one thing I need you to know and truly believe…..
👉It’s not selfish to put yourself first, it’s absolutely necessary!👈
Here are a few questions for you to ponder over right now:
If you allow today’s thoughts and behaviours to continue how will your life be 20 years from now?
If you keep accepting that your wellness isn’t as important as your children’s where will you be 20 years from now?
If you continue to believe you are not worthy of getting the best help you can for yourself right now, how will your life be 20 years from today?
It’s time for change and the time for change is now.
So what symptoms are showing up in your life as a sign that you may need to be nurturing yourself more?
I’ll go through these from a body, mind and soul perspective and share some common examples.
Symptoms from a Physical Perspective
Body: Physically your body may be showing signs of weight gain or stubborn body fat, bloating, constipation or diarrhea, headaches, rashes, hormone imbalances, adrenal fatigue, autoimmune issues, aches and pains, always being injured, the list goes on and on.
Symptoms from a Mental Perspective
Mind: You may be experiencing anxiety, suffering with depression, feeling guilty, unworthy, stressed out, lacking clarity, perhaps when you go to bed at night you just can’t switch your mind off from racing over all the things you need to be doing.
Symptoms from a Spiritual Perspective
Soul: Feeling like life is a struggle and something is always going wrong, feeling like something is missing, feeling like you are off track, not living your best life.
The Solution
Here’s the truth. When you honour your needs and live in alignment with the things you value, as you work on creating a better life, everything comes together in perfect timing.
One of the biggest realisations I’ve personally experienced is that you find your power by looking within.
Your body has all the answers you need to help you stay on the right path. Getting help to identify and help blossom what needs to grow is the next best step from here.
Things like symptoms, emotions, behaviours, these are all part of a feedback loop to help you start investigating what changes need to happen.
Since 2009, majority of my life have been dedicated to positively nourishing myself which took up a lot of time I didn’t have to spare and a hell of a lot of money which I invested in the form of treatments and sessions to look after myself, and courses, workshops, qualifications and mentoring to develop myself further.
When I began investing in myself, I never had the money just sitting there. However I noticed that my energy changed each time I committed to something I needed to do and I attracted my investment back EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
I share this information with you today to help you overcome your fear of spending time and money on yourself.
You are worthy of investing in yourself and you always get a return on your commitment.
My life would NOT be what it is today had I not taken the many heart thumping leaps I did as I committed to getting the help I needed. Heart thumping because it involved huge amounts of money and time out of my busy schedule.
If you have trouble spending time and money on yourself, please do the list of 100 things I love about me.
SIMPLE WAYS YOU CAN START NOURISHING YOUR BODY
Thoughts and feelings are reflected in the body. Our body is where we hold onto and often see the results of fear, anger, frustration and stress and other low vibration emotions.
When it comes to health and wellness, Hippocrates said it well “It is more important to know what sort of person has a disease, than to know what sort of disease a person has”.
The energy of stress and low vibration covered up emotions will manifest into serious issues down the track if we don’t address them now.
So here’s some ways how you can start nourishing your body:
USING EXERCISE
👉If you’re inactive, start by doing something you enjoy.
Consistency is really important here so take steps to ensure you are consistent with your efforts.
This is where a reliable training buddy can be helpful, otherwise make yourself accountable to a good trainer. A good personal trainer will guide and teach you what your body needs to see progress fast. Or if that’s not your thing, dance around the house, start your day with some yoga poses or stretch out your tight muscles.
👉If you have a physical goal you would like to achieve, get the best help you need to succeed.
For example, if you’re wanting to drop body fat, don’t go pounding yourself and ruining your joints, get a trainer who will help you build a strong base to work from so that you do no harm as you get closer to your goal. If you need help locating a trainer, shout out. We specialise in 1 on 1 training at Lilydale but in all the courses and workshops we’ve attended over the years we’ve met plenty of amazing trainers from around the country who can help you too.
USING REST and RECOVERY
👉Massage, float, infrared saunas, hot springs
👉Stretch and release work
👉Getting better quality sleep
👉Breathe work.
USING NUTRITION
👉Drink enough water and infuse your water with love!!
If you haven’t seen Dr Emoto’s work on water and how frozen water looks under a microscope after being exposed to different intentions, check out this video! Once you watch this you will understand why infusing your water with love can be so powerful. This is a great tip for anyone who needs to improve self love but you can infuse your water with any intention you like! I actually have a quartz crystal generator which has been coded to boost immunity which permanently rests in my water purifier tank. You can buy powerfully coded quartz crystal generators from the online store at Forensic Healing.
👉Avoid inflammatory foods and start eating more high vibe foods.
Inflammatory foods differ from person to person. Personally, I like using Applied Muscle Testing to work out what foods are inflammatory for each person as you get direct feedback on the spot without having to consume the foods. If you eat a diet 100% consisting of unprocessed organic foods, you will usually feel the difference within one week.
👉Eat for your goals and energy requirements. Applied Muscle Testing sessions allow me to check in with your body to work out how many meals you need to be eating daily, along with your protein, carbs and fat requirements, are they needed for every meal, some meals or very few meals? Could you benefit with some Intermittent Fasting? Is a vegan or vegetarian diet better for you? It depends on many different things! This is all very handy information when you are working toward a specific goal. A good coach won’t force you to eat a particular way but rather accomodate your bodies needs to your goals, your health and your beliefs.
FOLLOWING A GOOD MAINTENANCE PLAN
Going forward, aim to be proactive, rather than reactive.
👉This is why I love Applied Muscle Testing! Because we are working with direct feedback from the body we can find out exactly what the body needs right now so you can best support yourself nutritionally and with supplement if necessary.
👉Visit a great Osteo, Chiro, Massage Therapists, Physio’s and other health professionals – prevention is better than a cure.
👉Start looking into the metaphysical meanings behind symptoms your body is presenting. Be mindful when doing this that what comes up might seem to be something that is not an issue for you but sit with it and think carefully because often the reason why a physical symptom starts to present itself is because we haven’t paid attention to the issues it’s stemming from. Reach out for help when you need too and set boundaries according to what you find.
